About the Speaker

David Mansdoerfer, MPP, joined UNTHSC in September of 2019. Prior to joining, David served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health for the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). There, he had operational responsibility for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health including the offices of; HIV and Infectious Disease, Human Research Protection, Minority Health, Women’s Health, and Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. David also served as the HHS Chief Labor Negotiator. During his time at HHS, David worked on a variety of topics including the top Presidential initiatives of Ending HIV, Opioids, Youth Sports, and Veterans Suicide. In other capacities, David has also worked for the California State Senate, County of Orange, and served as the Chairman of the Mission Viejo Planning and Transportation Committee.
